Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Secretary Frederick D. Go expressed his optimism over the Supreme Court decision resolving the legal dispute between the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and its lessee CJH Development Corporation (CJHDevCo), saying “this development will enable the government to unleash the full potential of the John Hay Special Economic Zone and spur inclusive economic opportunities for northern Luzon.”

His statement comes on the heels of the Supreme Court en banc announcement, saying it “has upheld the arbitral ruling ordering [CJHDevCo] to vacate a portion of the John Hay Special Economic Zone (John Hay SEZ)” it leased from the BCDA.

“With this, we invite private sector partners to look into John Hay as an ideal investment hub in the northern region for commerce, eco-tourism, and leisure,” Secretary Go said in a statement.

The economic czar added that “this is in line with the Marcos administration's thrust to promote investments by utilizing and fully supporting ecozones, consequently bringing in strategic industries and promoting growth outside Metro Manila.”
